Great Virgil review

Thought I would post this audio clip of Virg and the band playing. The clip was provided by the same guy who wrote the lengthy review, his name is Peter a great guy for sure. Play the clip in Real Player if you can, sounds better IMO.

Wait a minute...

That clip...is Virgil doing a completely spot on Dennis imitation or is that just me?
I mean just listen to the solo...I am so confused

No, the guy who posted it had no info on the CD so thought it was Virg, but it's actually Dennis playing.

Peter had probably listened to it once or twice and was so into the show he had just seen, it did not hit him till later that it was Dennis. But he definitely realized it later as I did. I had not even listened but to the opening section, but yeah when you get to the solo section section it sounds like Dennis for sure. Alot of guy's did a double take when they heard the entire clip. An honest mistake on Peter's part as Me2 said he was being very nice and helpful(he is a great guy) by sharing the clip and glad he did it is still a great track even though Dennis is playing.

I guess he was thinking....I'd like to share this with someone but wasnt/isnt to clued up on the band/music he posted on. Nice of him to make an effort.

Hey guys, it's me, Peter C. I'm the guy who wrote the story and posted the bad link. I apologize. I tried to let Steve know shortly thereafter and I had the link removed from all the boards, where it appeared. At the show, I was told Virgil would be on the disc (CDR). There were no credits. The girl was just mistaken. In my excitement, having seen Virgil play these tunes VERY tastefully and like many of you, unaccustomed to the experience, I recorded that particular tune almost as soon as I arrived home to post; to spread the news that Virgil could morph for another genre. I know Dennis well enough that I should have been able to tell but I was blinded temporarily and perhaps tired. As soon as a couple of guys questioned me about it, I scrutinized the performances more carefully and then realized what a fool I was to mistake Dennis for Virgil. Of course, they're very different players, with totally different approaches to the kit and music. However, I want to impress upon you that Virgil was exceptional that night, laying down anvil grooves, as well as serving up micro-slice, sushi, with his choppers.
